Andro Eradze

Andro Eradze (Georgia, 1993) is an artist and filmmaker based in Tbilisi. His practice investigates the qualitative nature of images – both still and moving – and their ability to evoke states of presence, memory, and spectrality. After studying at Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film University, he completed a master’s degree at the Center of Contemporary Art in Tbilisi. Working across photography, installation, video, and experimental cinema, Eradze develops a visual language that engages with the traditions of Surrealism and Magical Realism. His work has been presented in numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as at international film festivals, including MoMA PS1, New York; the 59th Venice Biennale; New Museum, New York; WIELS Contemporary Art Centre, Brussels; the 54th International Film Festival Rotterdam; the 22nd Bienal Sesc_Videobrasil, São Paulo; Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin; Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles; and Honor Fraser Gallery, Los Angeles.
