Protagonist at Lucca Comics & Games 2025, “The Last Book. Il diario dellultimo terrestre” contains exceptional illustrations created by Lev Kaplan, art director and member of the Hungry Minds collective, who gave shape to the highly anticipated sequel to “The Book”. Here is a preview of the Italian version published by Marsilio Arte

The countdown is on for the 2025 edition of Lucca Comics & Games, scheduled from 29 October to 2 November in the heart of the Tuscan city. Making the wait even more exciting is the series of events dedicated to The Last Book. Il diario dell’ultimo terrestre, the sequel to The Book. Manuale definitivo per la ricostruzione della civiltà, the volume created by the Hungry Minds collective, published in Italian by Marsilio Arte in 2023 and which became a publishing sensation. The Last Book will be unveiled to the public and sold in an exclusive preview during the upcoming edition of the festival, and readers will have the opportunity to ask Lev Kaplan, art director and member of the collective, to create a unique illustration on the pages of their copy. Well-equipped with brushes and pencils, Lev Kaplan will welcome the public every day alongside Marsilio Arte at the Feltrinelli Comics stand (Napoleone Pavilion, Stand NAP 210) and will be the star, alongside Vsevolod “Seva” Batischev, one of the founders of Hungry Minds, of the showcase scheduled for Thursday, 30 October, from 12 to 1 p.m., in the Sala Tobino at Palazzo Ducale. During the live performance, the two will reveal details about the creation of The Last Book, including spectacular illustrations and incredible curiosities about human culture, the focus of both volumes created by Hungry Minds.
The showcase will be preceded by a live stream on Twitch with Claudio Di Biagio from 10.30 to 11 a.m.
